Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is an essential branch of Pharmacy Education Programme, which covers the various aspects of Discovery and Development of new drugs with collaboration to other five departments in our institution such as Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology and Pharmacy Practice. The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is involved in the taking lectures in the subjects of Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry, Advanced Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medicinal Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis for the Diploma and Undergraduate students in the two and four years D.Pharm and B. Pharm course respectively.

Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry is a very important and valuable subject. It is the very essence of all life on our planet. The department is well equipped to introduce these fundamental subjects to the students so that a strong foundation is laid at the very beginning. This foundation serves as the building block for all other subjects in the entire B. Pharm course.

Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry has four laboratories. The laboratories are designed and equipped with various state of the art technologies which include central ventilation system and very sophisticated fume hoods attached with vacuum and water supply. The laboratories are spacious and ventilated having adequate space for students to carry out experimental work smoothly. In the Pharmaceutical Chemistry laboratory we have the various instruments essential for the routine smooth conduct of the practical experiments such as Precision Digital Balance, Multi magnetic Stirrer, Rotamantle, Water-bath, Digital Mechanical Stirrers, High Speed Centrifuge, Hot Air Oven, Dedicator and advanced instruments to facilitate the research work, which
